This freight train leads every day for hours to come close to the border with Ukraine and stock up on the most precious wood, one of the main materials of construction in the region of Maramures.

Due to the hardness of the work and the isolation nobody wants this work, the team is composed by people who has worked previously in the exploitation of mines or similar works. Some workers take turns over several months, isolated in the mountains preparing wood, After returning to their homes; few of them repeated the experience more than twice.
 

In summer they organized tours with a steam engine, they are short but pleasant travel. The rest of the season should be collected early in the morning, before that amanezca, at the food pantry but close to the train station. It ask for the foreman of the goods train which transports the wood and talk to him to know if it is possible to accompany them. Remember to buy supplies, the trip lasts all day.
